Problems?

Sorry, I really don't want to hear about your problems.  Oh, you mean you're having problems viewing this web site.  Ok, I'll try to help you out with that.

  1. The original photo slideshows that are on this web site were created mainly with PowerPoint, so the biggest problem with viewing them in Internet Explorer is that you don't have the Office Animation Runtime installed on your computer.  So how do you fix that?  Download the Office Animation Runtime by clicking HERE, and then close all of your browser windows, and install the downloaded file.  You may have to clear out the cache of Internet Explorer before you can view this web site properly, and if you don't know how to do that click HERE.  After that, you should be all setup to hike Kurt's Appalachian Trail!  If for some reason you are still having problems viewing this web site with Internet Explorer, call Microsoft at 800-642-7676.    Seriously, just read number 4 below.

  2. Now not everybody uses Internet Explorer, so I have created pages that will run on Mozilla-based browsers, [this would include Netscape], and I have inserted scripts on all of the original pages to redirect viewers using alternate browsers.  The slideshows are in a different format, so the Office Animation Runtime need not be installed.  I've also included a Alternate Browser Site Map, where you can access the alternate pages, if you have scripting turned off or it is not working properly.  The pages for alternate browsers can also be viewed with Internet Explorer, but I don't think they look as good in Internet Explorer as the ones I created for Internet Explorer, but each person should hike their own hike, even on Kurt's Appalachian Trail, so go ahead and use the pages for alternate browsers in Internet Explorer, if you so desire, by using the Alternate Browser Site Map.

  3. If you think this web site is really slow, then it's time to upgrade your internet connection to broadband!

  4. For any other problems with this web site, please feel free to contact me by clicking HERE, and I'll try to help you out, as long as you provide a valid e-mail address that I can respond to you.  Thanks for hiking Kurt's Appalachian Trail, and I hope you enjoy the journey.

Welcome to all who stumbled over Kurt's AT!
Warning! This is an incomplete story of my hikes, warts & all. I hiked my hikes the way that was best for me. I do not advocate any style of hiking other than that each person must find their own way.
